Happy Valley Wedding, Luka & Oliver
On a warm summer day in June, as the willow trees gently swayed in the breeze, Luka and Oliver celebrated their love and commitment on an island in the middle of a lake in the picturesque Happy Valley, Norfolk.
Seated on hay bales, Luka and Oliver’s friends and family watched the couple exchange vows, whilst the bride’s stunning dress flowed behind her.
It’s long been established that you never upstage the bride on her wedding day, however there was a beautiful little lady who wanted to share the limelight.
The couple’s daughter, Dulcie, couldn’t bear to be apart from mummy and daddy and spent the ceremony in the couple’s arms. Not quite the picture of serenity perhaps Luka envisaged, but in a way, it couldn’t have been more perfect. This is real life, this is family and this is real love. The family unit, all together, celebrating their love.
The bridal preparations began at the stunning treehouse at Toad Hall, a short two-minute drive from the venue. The floral displays by Romeo and Succulent were stunning and the couple had decorated the barn with lots of personal touches. The bride’s father had even made each and every wedding plate!
The bridal party made their way to the venue in a Land Rover, driven by the bride’s father, whilst Oliver waited patiently for Luka to walk across the bridge to the island where they celebrated their wedding.
Happy Valley is such a stunning venue with great outdoor space for a couple to put their own stamp on their day. Children were entertained with garden games, a climbing frame, swings and hook a duck! The children’s tipi village was inspired.
Guests were treated to flower crowns, lovingly made by Kim from Romeo and Succulent. If you are planning your own Boho wedding, I could not recommend her highly enough!
After a delicious meal we walked round the lake for some golden hour shots in the stunning grounds before one last ‘wow’ shot after the touching and hilarious speeches.
Luka and Oliver, I wish you a lifetime of happiness. You were worthy winners of my 2019 ‘Win Your Wedding’ competition and thank you for allowing me to share your beautiful wedding day at Happy Valley.
